While his country has all eyes turned towards the opening of its Commonwealth Games, India’s Ajay Jayaram celebrated another victory few thousand kilometres away: he won the gold medal of the Czech International, beating Scott Evans on Sunday. The Indian boy, who now plays for the French Club of Lagardere Paris Racing earns his first international gold medal as did Denmark’s Karina Jorgensen, who beat Sashina Vignes. The  Malaysian-born player, who has lived in France since she was 13, wasted no fewer than 3 game points before bowing 22-24, 20-22.

The Netherlands, England and Denmark shared the three doubles titles.
