Thailand opted for a surprise line-up for the final of the women’s team event at the Guangzhou . Salakjit Ponsana and Porntip Buranaprasertsuk are not fielded, but instead Ratchanok Intanon, Nitchaon Jindapol and Youth Olympic Games gold medallist Sapsiree Taerattanachai are on for the three singles while the two other doubles players are also under 22. It is a big bet for Thailand, who is fielding a whole generation of amazing singles youngsters, all under 20 years of age, including Porntip, who just turned 19 last month.
