Troubled by some injuries for the past weeks, Judith Meulendijks of the Netherlands is hoping to make a winning return to competition this week-end in Hungary for the 35th Yonex Hungarian . The top seed has made it to the quarter-final stage and looks favoured to take the title, with Karine Schnaase from Germany as the biggest threat to her, at the opposite side of the draw.

Finland’s Ville Lang, the top seed in the men’s singles is still on course in the quarter-final stage as well but the biggest surprise of the tournament was Belgium’s Yuhan Tan’s win over second seed Jan Vondra of Czech Republic.
