Lena Frier Kristiansen has announced her with immediate effect. The 2008 European women’s doubles champion has decided to call time on her career after failing to make an impression on world badminton in her new partnership with Marie Ropke.

“I have stopped my career because I no longer believe that Marie (Røpke) and I can become among the best players in the top 10, which was my goal. We had some difficulties communicating together; and that made it really hard to improve. We are just too different,” said Frier in an interview with Badminton Europe.

Frier plans to move to London in the new year along with her partner to embark on a new career path and we at Badzine wish them both every success for the future.
