While the eyes of the badminton world were on the live draws performed in Taipei for the 2010 Super Series Finals, the BWF nearly simultaneously was taking care of those for the 2011 , set to begin in two weeks’ time.  The draws began after the final in a series of withdrawals, India’s Saina Nehwal, who evidently does not believe that the injury that is keeping her out of this weeks Finals will have sufficiently healed by the start of play in Kuala Lumpur.

The prize money doubling has coincided with a spectacular field and the men’s singles draw is full of top-notch action right from the first round, including Taufik Hidayat against Park Sung Hwan and Tago Kenichi taking on Bao Chunlai.  Several new doubles pairings will keep seeded duos on their toes, including Korea’s Cho/Kwon, who must face a new pairing of veterans Chan Chong Ming and Lee Wan Wah and women’s doubles top seeds Cheng Wen Hsing / Chien Yu Chin take on China’s newest: Du Jing / Pan Pan.
