The are about to launch a new circuit of 4 legs in order to boost the local badminton scene and provide local shuttlers with a ranking. The Philippine Badminton Ranking System (PBaRS), a four-leg nationwide circuit was put up to determine the rank from local players according to their strength, with the first leg being held on March 27 at PowerSmash in Makati with a total prize fund of P1 million (US$ 23 000) at stake.

The launch of the new circuit was done last week in Manilla in the presence of Vice President and incoming Philippine Badminton Association president Jejomar Binay along with former First Lady and outgoing PBA president Amelita “Ming” Ramos and Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose Cojuangco Jr.
