Lauren Smith and Alex Langley were given a wild card to participate in the upcoming Yonex BWF in Wembley, next August. The mixed double duo will be featuring in their home event after being invited by the National Body in spite of their ranking which wouldn’t allow them to qualify on merit.

“I was over the moon and couldn’t believe it when they told me. I was waiting for someone to say it was a joke” she told The News and Star

Langley and smith, 19 have made it to the top 100 thanks to some good results lately. Smith hopes they can qualify for Rio’s Olympic Games. Should this happen, the Yonex BWF World Championships experience will definitely be something to take along.
