Saurabh Verma and PC Thulasi were crown champions of the NSCI All-India Major-ranking badminton tournament held in Mumbai on Wednesday. Saina Nehwal and the best men’s singles players had skipped the local event, which saw almost no top seeds succeed except for Verma. The latter beat Sai Praneeth in three hard fought games while PC Thulasi edged out her opponent of the day, Sayali Gokhale quite easily 21-14, 21-14.
