Right on the heels of the Yonex BWF World Badminton Championships, the badminton competition has gotten underway in Shenzhen, China, where the world’s top athletes are gathered for the biennial Summer .

Some members of world badminton’s top echelons are among the students competing for gold and national pride in Shenzhen, including Shin Baek Cheol and Eom Hye Won of Korea, Shendy Puspa Irawati of Indonesia, Maneepong Jongjit and Savitree Amitapai of Thailand, Li Tian and Wen Kai of China, Zulfadli Zulkifli and Loh Wei Sheng of Malaysia, and Takuma Ueda of Japan.

In fact, some competitors even flew straight over from London to Shenzhen and were active in team events today, including Spain’s Pablo Abian and Chinese Taipei’s Cheng Shao Chieh, Fang Chieh Min and Lee Sheng Mu.
