The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has disqualified all four pairs involved in the match-fixing fiasco on Tuesday evening (see related article here).  The BWF’s Disciplinary Committee convened a hearing on Wednesday morning at which the decision was made to disqualify Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang  of China, Greysia Polii and Meiliana Jauhari of Indonesia and , Kim Ha Na, Ha Jung Eun, and Kim Min Jung, all of Korea, for violations of the BWF’s Players’ Code of Conduct – Sections 4.5 “not using one’s best efforts to win a match” and 4.16 “conducting oneself in a manner that is clearly abusive or detrimental to the sport”.

Later in the day, the committee heard appeals from the Indonesian and Korean pairs and a final decision will be announced at a press conference at Wembley Arena at 4:15PM London time.
