Chines Taipei is the official host of the 2013 edition of the Championships, following two editions in the city of Chengdu, in the Chinese province of Sichuan. This is a first – in 50 years of competition – that the island welcomes Asia’s finest shuttlers. The question now remains whether the Chinese shuttlers will be making the trip to Taiwan – unlike this year where the Grand Prix Gold event was played with no shuttlers from the Chinese powerhouse and last year when China skipped the World Junior Championships. However, some Chinese made the trip to the Superseries Finals in early 2011, an event also hosted by the Chinese Taipei Badminton Association.

The event will be held from 16 to 21 April 2013 at the multi-purpose Taipei Arena.
