Together, as a mixed doubles pair, they won the first final played against their compatriots Langridge/Olver, 22-20, 21-16 in 49 minutes, before repeating the same feat, in the women’s and men’s doubles respectively later on that same day.

Marcus Ellis and his partner from Scotland Paul van Rietvelde beat Briggs and Towler in three games while Gabby White teamed up with Lauren Smith to beat Scotland’s Julie Cooper and Kristy Gilmour  21-7, 21-14.

Gabby White is set to play with Chris Adcock, her fiance, from January onwards.

In the singles, Chinese Taipei clinched both events, with Chou Tien Chen edging Malaysia’s Kuan Beng Hong 21-15, 21-13, while Chiang Mei Hui beat Petya Nedelcheva 19-21, 21-19, 21-17 in one hour of play.
