The Badminton World Federation () just announced that Poul-Erik Høyer of Denmark has been elected President.  Høyer, the men’s singles gold medallist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and current President of Badminton Europe, was elected by a count of 145 to 120 over Justian Suhandinata of Indonesia.

Meanwhile, incumbent candidate for Deputy President, Paisan Rangsikitpho, was also defeated, 148 to 118 by Gustavo Fernando Salazar Delgado.
