Koo Kien Keat will not be playing in the Finals, which start Wednesday in Kuala Lumpur.  The Malaysian is suffering from an eye injury and had to withdraw from the US$500,000 event. He and partner Tan Boon Heong will be replaced by Macau Open Champions Hoon Thien How / Tan Wee Kiong, who were the first reserves, at #9 in the final rankings.

“We have withdrawn them from the tournament because Koo [Kien Keat] has been suffering from a swollen eye.

“This will mean that our second pair Hoon [Thien How]-Tan [Wee Kiong] will replace them [Kien Keat-Boon Heong] as the first reserves,” Malaysia’s national doubles coach Peng Cheh Chang told Sports 247.
