After day 3 of the ongoing Gold in Basel, almost all favourites are still in the draws. If on day 2, a few seeded players were beaten (#7 MD Ko/Shin, #7XD Widianto/Dili and #3 MD Adcock/Ellis by Zhang Nan and Fu Haifeng), most top players secured their spot in the quarter-finals, which will start on Friday afternoon. China is still looking at a strong performance with 12 spots in the quarters. Indonesia has 6 players/pairs left in the draw, Denmark 5 and Korea, India, Chinese Taipei and England all have 3. Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and the USA each have one participant left.
