Beat China before the last match… or else! This is what is now on everyone’s mind after it was confirmed that the two-time Olympic champion would be participating in the upcoming Thomas Cup in Delhi.

Mahendra Kapoor, director of Sunlight Sports Pvt. Ltd. (Singapore), distribution wing of Li Ning, said Lin Dan’s visit is confirmed. Only an official announcement is awaited.  “He is going to participate in the Thomas Cup for sure. It has been confirmed by Chinese national coach Li Yongbo during one of our meetings with him,” Kapoor said. “He will be playing as the third singles player,” he told the Times of India recently.

This means that, with Lin Dan’s world , the Chinese will feature him in third men’s singles player and it is unlikely that any other player in a squad in this position could beat the badminton genius. This will clearly give China a clear psychological advantage to retain their title in the Indian capital next month.
