Commonwealth Games hosts past and future have entered bids to host the 2017 , says a report released today by the Badminton World Federation ().  Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia and Glasgow, Scotland submitted their bids before the July 31st deadline to host the ’s World Mixed Team Badminton Championships three years hence.  The winner will be announced immediately after formal bids are presented at the ’s Council Session in Lima, Peru, on the 10th-14th of November.

Glasgow hosted the Commonwealth Games this summer and Gold Coast has already been named the host for the next edition, which comes one year after the Sudirman.  Both bids are expected to involve use of their respective Commonwealth Games badminton venues.
