Former men’s doubles world #1s Mathias Boe and Cai Yun will team up for the in April.  The two veterans, who faced each other in the gold medal match in London four years ago, were a last-minute entry to the Premier event, after Boe and his regular partner Carsten Mogensen had to withdraw before the entry deadline.   Mogensen is still convalescing in Kazan following brain to contain a ruptured aneurysm but he is looking forward to getting home to Denmark.

The two 36-year-olds have won 28 Superseries titles between them but the Malaysia Open is one of only two among the 13 top-tier events that neither player has ever won.  The Malaysia event will be the first outing in an international ranking event for Cai Yun since the Hong Kong Open in November. Former partners Fu Haifeng and Lu Kai will also be playing, in their new partnerships with Zhang Nan and Liu Cheng respectively.
