Early on Saturday, the Badminton Association of Malaysia confirmed that had been diagnosed with an early stage of nose and that he was getting treatment in Taiwan. The statement, made by BAM’s President Norza Zakaria wanted to remain positive about Lee’s condition:

“Chong Wei is currently in Taiwan seeking treatment and I am pleased to inform you that he is responding well to his treatment and is currently resting and recuperating amongst family and close friends.”

Nozra also appealed for the badminton community to respect their number one shuttler and his family’s privacy.  Rumours had been going on strong since yesterday, where some social network posts had started spreading the news, with no confirmation from the Malaysia star. This morning, however, his official Twitter account simply showed a link to BAM’s official statement.

All the Badzine staff send Lee Chong Wei, his family and close friends all their support.
