INDIA GPG – Taufik now clear favourite

A possible late Christmas present for Taufik Hidayat, who remains on course for the title in India, more than a year after his last success in Paris’s Super Series. The Indonesian wonder, who has dropped to the 12th spot in the world rangking list, is to play Hong Kong’s Wong Ki Wing for a spot in the final. In the other half of the draw, India’s new wonder Sourah Varma takes on Thailand’s Avihingsanon.

Thailand is looking a three possible titles with still Ratchanok Inthanon and Porntip Buranaprasertsuk still in the draw in the women’s singles, and the top seeds Prapakamol and Thounthungkam eager to shine in mixed doubles.
