Tan Kim Her will be taking over from Rexy Mainaky as head of the Malaysian men’s doubles squad in the lead-up to the Olympic Games.   The announcement – a result of a (BAM) meeting on Thursday in Kuala Lumpur – means that Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong will no longer be under Rexy’s charge – a wish they had expressed in public late last month. The former Olympic champion, however, stays in the Malaysian stable as head for the women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

In the new coaching set up, according to the Malaysian press agency Bernama, Pang Cheh Chang and Rosman Razak would assist Kim Her.

Amongst other decisions taken by BAM ‘s Coaching and Training (C&T) Committee, the back-up shuttlers will be training with the A team, to give more depth and more sparring partners to Lee Chong Wei and Koo/Tan. The top Malaysian stars, however, will not be fielded for the upcoming SEA Games.
