The (BAM) has confirmed that two Malaysian players have been provisionally suspended by the Badminton World Federation () following allegations of , according to a report today in the New Straits Times.

Another Malaysian daily, The Star, had earlier quoted a Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission official as saying that one player was an independent player who had represented Malaysia at the All England and World Championships.  In announcing that a second player had been provisionally suspended, the NST quoted BAM General Manager Michelle Chai as saying that her organization had to maintain confidentiality and wait for the BWF to make official announcements but she also intimated that notice from the BWF had been communicated to BAM in late 2017.
